Mary Jane Aymond Matte, 81 years old, was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 24, 2021. She entered this world on September 17, 1939, born to Clemile and Letitia Aymond, in Leonville, LA. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
She became an angel to our Lord on Jan. 24, 2021. A very devoted servant to our Lord God, Mother Mary, and our family. Praying daily for anyone in sorrow or in need. She was a very colorful person in both body and soul. She was everyone's rainbow after their storm. The moments she made you laugh were unforgettable. Joyful moments to carry you through all the tough moments in your life. She was like an angel carrying you, she was there for you. Many family members and friends as children spent their summers with us. Moments they will all cherish forever. Now she has become an angel to our Lord, but she was always an angel to us here.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Newman Paul Matte; 1 son Mark Matte and wife, Belinda ; 2 daughters, Angie Knaps and husband, Mike, and Lisa Howell and husband, Shawn; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Vivian Meyers and Rose Devillier; and a host of nieces and nephews.
