Mary J. Earls, 69, beloved mother and grandmother was called to her eternal resting place on September 15, 2017. She entered this world on August 30, 1948 born to Curtis and Wilhema Woods in Natchez, MS. She served on the East Baton Rouge Parish Rape Council for many years and was member of the Main Street Pilots Club in Baker. She was employed at Progressive Health Center. She enjoyed tending to her flowers and cooking for her family. She had a brilliant mind and had a patent for DIGNA TEEZ, undergarments for bedridden people to help keep their dignity. She was mild-mannered and a very wise woman who will be forever missed.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Sheila Crocram; grandson, Joshua Crocram; and great-granddaughter, Jaelynn Laveda Crocram; son, Joel Ware, 4 sisters, Carlena J. Dunbar, Deloris Green, Zeola Jackson and Lorrine Jackson; 3 brothers, Felix W. Jackson, Curtis Jackson, Jr. and Connie Jackson; and longtime friends, Rudolph Williams, Sam Crocram, Lorenzo Valley and Louis Tate, Jr.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mary is preceded in death by parents, Curtis Jackson Sr and Wilhema Woods Jackson.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA, on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. until the memorial service at 10:00 a.m.
