Martin Pynes

A resident of Baker, and a retired supervisor with Dow Chemical, he died Friday, January 13, 2012 at Lane Regional Medical Center. He was 88, a native of Peason, LA, and a US ArmyAir Force veteran of WWII, having served in the South Pacific. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Sunday, January 15, 2012 from 48pm, and on Monday, January 16, 2012 from 9am until religious services in the chapel at 11am, conducted by Dr. Kevin Hand and Rev. Dennis McAnally. Graveside services with military honors will be on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 10am at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker. Survived by a daughter and soninlaw, Suzanne and Kenneth Nix of Oak Grove two grandsons, Brad Nix and wife Betsy of Oak Grove, and Kyle Nix and wife Shannon of Grapevine, TX four greatgranddaughters, Brooklyn and Hazel Nix of Oak Grove, and Alyssa and Alexandra Nix of Grapevine, TX and his best friend, Ruby Bacon of Baton Rouge. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy G. Pynes a brother, Gene Pynes, and his parents, Floyd and Linda Pynes. Pallbearers will be Brad and Kyle Nix, Sam Raney, Jerry Stuckey, Jim Peevey, and Vernon Dennis. Wade was a member of Zoar Baptist Church and Gideons International.
