Makayla Armani Moore passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023 in Zachary, Louisiana at the age of 18.
Makayla was born in Baton Rouge on January 11, 2005, to Patrick Moore and Tabatha Escue. She spent her childhood fishing, playing basketball, and loving on animals (especially her dog BJ). Makayla was happiest with family, especially her siblings: Izaya, Amyah, Kemmyona, Kemijah, Jaylon, Alyrica, and Diamond.
Makayla graduated from Slaughter Community Charter School in 2023 and planned to attend a technical school to pursue a career in Construction Site Management. She was a hard worker and was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. Her HUGE heart will be her legacy.
Makayla was especially close to her grandparents, Pam Dubois and Jeff Escue. She made a point to help them every chance she got. Makayla's memory will be carried on by her parents, siblings, her many aunts and uncles and a loving devoted girlfriend, Justiana Smith.
Makayla is preceded in death by her grandparents Norvin Dubois, Threassa Gill, Connie Moore, Patrick Varmall, and her brother Patrick "Pat Pat" Craig.
Serving as pallbearers will be Anthony Smith, Jeremiah Smith, Jacoby Bychurch, Matalius Thomas, Rashawn Carter, Darran Thomas, Timothius Smith and Darrel Thomas; honorary pallbearer will be Izaya Moore.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Capital Area Family Justice Center.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Bethany World Prayer Center, Baker, LA, on Friday, August 04, 2023, from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
