In Loving Memory of Lydia Stennett Cox
Lydia Stennett Cox, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and cherished member of the Baker, LA community, peacefully passed away on January 2, 2024, at Lane Regional Medical Center, in Zachary, LA. Born on June 21, 1949, Lydia lived a remarkable life filled with love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her.
Lydia Cox will be forever remembered as a woman of immense strength and faith. As a devoted mother, she dedicated her life to nurturing and supporting her son, William "Troy" Cox, who was her pride and joy. Lydia's genuine love and unwavering support will be eternally cherished by her beloved grandchildren, William "Troy" Cox, Jr., William "Trent" Cox, Christopher Paul Cox and Hannah Paulette Cox, great grandchildren, Matthew, Madelyn, Elliot, Rhett, Brantley, Phoenix, Berkleigh, and Easton Cox. She will also be forever remembered by 2 nephews, Brandon and Kevin Tyler Stennett.
Lydia is preceded in death by her parents, Paulie Ferrell Sennett and Miriam Amanda Chancellor Stennett; brother, Ronnie Stennett; and sister, Susan Stennett.
Serving as pallbearers will be William "Troy" Cox, Sr., William "Troy" Cox, Jr., William "Trent" Cox, Christopher Paul Cox, and Derek Braun.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation which will be held at Baker Presbyterian Church, 3015 Groom Road, Baker, LA, on Saturday, January 6, 2024, from 10:00 am until the funeral service at 3:00 pm. With heavy hearts, family, friends, and members of the community will come together to pay their final tributes to this remarkable woman. The burial will follow on a later date at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, LA.
Lydia's journey here on earth may have come to an end, but her spirit and love will forever live on. Her kind-heartedness and selflessness touched the lives of many, and her memory will be passed down through generations. Lydia loved Elvis and took advantage of any opportunity to see him perform even if she had to travel overseas.
Lydia will be dearly missed by her church family at Baker Presbyterian Church. The memories of praise, fellowship and laughter with Lydia will always be remembered by her brothers and sisters in Christ. Let us come together in celebration of her life, remembering the joy she brought to our lives and the countless memories we shared with her.
May her soul find eternal peace.
