Luther Wallace Stegall, Jr.
A resident of Baton Rouge and a retired operator with Kaiser Aluminum, he passed away Friday, October 15, 2010 at 4:34am at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 85, a US Army veteran of WWII, and a native of Carriere, MS. Graveside services at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Baker at 2pm on Saturday, October 23, 2010. Survived by two daughters and sonsinlaw, Kathy Tom Sawyer of St. Francisville, and Judy Randy Dugas of Baton Rouge a sister, Mary Lou Banta of Picayune, MS two brothers and sistersinlaw, Billy Ann Stegall and Mickey Lois Stegall, all of Picayune, MS five grandchildren, Jake Sawyer, Amy James husband Dan, Rennie Saywer, Ross Sawyer fiance Heather, and Doogie Dugas wife Debra and seven great grandchildren, and one on the way. Preceded in death by his wife, Theda Kay Stegall son, Larry Dale Stegall, a granddaughter, Jessica Gayle Sawyer his parents, and five brothers and sisters. He was a charter member of Foster Road Baptist Church, and a member of Money Hill Hunting Club and the American Legion. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
