Lula C. Ballard, a native and resident of Baywood, LA was born May 19, 1933 and passed away September 11, 2022 at the age of 89. Lula graduated from Pride High School, class of 1952. She worked many years at JC Penney, eventually retiring from Louisiana Sand and Gravel. She was a lifelong member of Bethany Baptist Church of Baywood.
Lula is survived by a son and daughter in-law, John Jr. & Debbie; two daughters and son in-laws, Susie & Don Barthel and Sherry & Wiley Lear; two grandsons and their wives, Jeremy & Casey Ballard and Jason & Evie Ballard; three granddaughters and their husbands, Ashleigh & Dan Jenkins, Jamie & Tim Mask and Cristie & Daniel Sanchez; thirteen great grandchildren, Aubrey, Aaron and Abbie Ballard, Jacob Stevens, Ethan and Justin Jenkins, Bryce Buhler, Eva Claire Ballard, Collier Mitchell, William Mask, Keith, Peyton and Logan Sanchez; one sister, Willie Smith; and one brother, Gerald Collier; numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved Church family.
Lula is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, John G. Ballard, Sr.; parents, Charles W. and Winnie Felps Collier; two sisters, Irma Lee Morgan and Vennie Ott; three brothers, Charles, Gates and Thurman Collier.
Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers are her grandsons.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA on September 17, 2022 at 9:00 am until service time at 11:00 am, conducted by her pastor, Bro. Jimmy Granger. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, LA.
