Louis Shar, Jr.
Retired owner of Shars AG Food Store in Brownsfield, a US Marine Corp Veteran of WWII, and a native of Gary, Indiana, he passed away at 3:45pm Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 90, a resident of Brownsfield, and a member of the American Legion. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Saturday, November 13, 2010 from noon until religious services in the chapel at 2pm, conducted by Rev. Dave Smith. Entombment to follow in Hillcrest Mausoleum. Survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Elaine Bennett Shar of Brownsfield one daughter and soninlaw, Marilyn Don Parsons of Brownsfield one son and daughterinlaw, Ronald Jackie Shar of Ventress three grandchildren, Charles Parsons wife Kim, Chris Shar wife Elizabeth, and Jennifer Magliolo husband Thomas and five great grandchildren, Melanie Conner Parsons, Clint Shar, Sarah Magliolo, and MaryDanse Jarratt. Pallbearers will be Charles Parsons, Chris Shar, Thomas Magliolo, Jeff Averett, Rodney Averett, and Greg Bennett. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimers Services of the Capital Area, 3772 North Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70806.
