LEWIS, Lester Hunter
A resident of Ethel and a native of Plaquemine, he passed away at 6:50am Friday, April 2, 2010 at his daughters home in Zachary. He was 87, a pipefitter by trade, and a US Navy veteran of WWII. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Monday, April 5, 2010 from 10am until religious services in the chapel at 1pm, conducted by Rev. Steve Johnson. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be grandsons. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Lee Lopez Lewis of Ethel three daughters and two sonsinlaw, Priscilla Lewis Haynsworth of Zachary, Robin Lewis Jerry Overhultz of Baker, and Tammie Lewis Tommy Fazio of Baton Rouge two sons and a daughterinlaw, Michael G. Betty Lewis of Central, and Asa W. Lewis of Zachary a sister, Doris Miller of Junction City, KS, a brother, David Allen Lewis of Garden Grove, CA, 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and one greatgreat granchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. Ella Lewis three brothers, Charles, Dwight, Howard Red Lewis and a sister, Dorothy Pinell. Lester enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.
