Lester Doughty

Lester Nathaniel Doughty, 83 years old, was called to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 4, 2021. He entered this world on September 26, 1937, born to Wesley and Lavinia Doughty, in Baker, LA. He loved camping and fishing and being the Music Director at his church, Faith Baptist. He was funny, outgoing and had an incredible love for life. Lester was a retired Captain of the Baker Fire Department.

Lester is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Sharon Hawes; his son, Joseph Doughty (Jennifer); daughter, Laurie (Larry); daughter, Tammy; son, Kyle (Sharon); daughter, Stephanie (Jeff); daughter, Laki and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lester is preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Lavinia Doughty; son, Shane Chustz; and his sisters, Joyce Doughty Seguin Crochet and Myrtis Doughty.

Serving as pallbearers will be Laurence Barkley, IV, Joseph Doughty, Adam Doughty, Anthony Lemmings, Blake Lemmings and Darren Joseph Green. Honorary pallbearers will be Kyle Chustz, Jayden Chustz and Jacob Chustz.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Faith Baptist Church, 15880 Plank Rd, Baker, LA, on Monday, March 15th, from 9:00 am until the Funeral Service at 10:00 am, officiated by Brother Arnold Austin. The graveside service and burial will follow at Devall Cemetery, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
