Leona Dubois

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she died Friday, January 3, 2014 at her home in Baker. She was 79, and a former beauty pageant director and modeling teacher. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 from 58pm, with Recitation of the Rosary at 7pm. Services and burial will be private. Tiny is survived by three daughters and sonsinlaw, Connie and John Ashford, Taryn and David Creekbaum, and Dana and James Adams a son and daughterinlaw, Troy and Kathy Dubois a sister and brotherinlaw, Ruby and Archie Browning a brother and sisterinlaw, Warren and Lettie Cavalier 10 grandchildren, Stephen Ashford, Daniel Ashford, Lee Rushing, Troy Eugene Dubois, Cole Dubois, Hollye LeFebvre, Zachary Creekbaum, Erica Page, Spc. Tyler J. Adams, and Landon Adams and 13 greatgrandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Eugene Shoestring Dubois granddaughter, Amy Ashford Yates, M.D. sister, Ruth Kelly three brothers, Russell, Irvin, and Roland Cavalier and her parents, Clara Ourso and John W. Cavalier. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Tiny was a 1953 graduate of Istrouma High School, and a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church. She was owner and director of Kids USA Pageant System, and Little Miss Bass. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 N. Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA 22311 or the Dr. Amy Ashford Yates Memorial Award in Pediatrics, co LSU Health Sciences Foundation, 920 Pierremont Rd., Suite 407, Shreveport, LA 71106.
