Kermit William Smith, 85 years old, a resident Baker, Louisiana went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 15, 2017. He was born to Claude and Mary Smith on April 18, 1932 in Lincoln County, Mississippi. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He loved to fish and hunt and was a member of the Bayou State Rabbit Hunters Federation. He also enjoyed visiting with friends and family.
Kermit is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Retha Moak Smith; 2 sons, Bobby Smith and Dicky Smith and wife, Donna; 3 granddaughters; 5 great-great grandchildren and 1 brother.
Kermit is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Mary Smith; granddaughter, Raychael Lackey; and daughter-in-law, Stephanie Smith.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Reverend Tom Bougher. The burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker, LA.
