Kenneth "Kenny" B. Mires

Kenneth "Kenny" B. Mires, 63 years old, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother and Friend passed away on June 22, 2024. He entered this world on November 25, 1960, born to Mary Alice Barker and Clyde Joseph Mires, in Opelousas, LA. Kenny honorably served his country in the United States Navy.

Kenny was a strong, kind, and loving man who would always take every opportunity to help anyone he could. Though he fought a difficult battle with cancer for over two years, he never lost these qualities for which he was loved and adored.

Kenny was an avid outdoorsman, taking any opportunity he could to be outside. You could always find him hunting, fishing, or even just "taking the boat out for a ride." When not outdoors Kenny enjoyed spending time with his family and grandkids, traveling, and working on different projects in his shop.

Kenny is survived by his loving wife, Laura Bellard Mires; sons, Bryan Mires (Crystal), Lucien Weiss (Olivia); daughter, Monika Weiss (Michael); grandchildren, Ruthann, Vivienne, and Liam; mother-in-law, Joyce Bellard; and stepmother, Cynthia Mires.

Kenny is preceded in death by his father, Clyde Mires; mother, Mary Barker; and father-in-law, Larry P. Bellard.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Pearce, Mike Smith, Lucien Weiss, Bryan Mires, Michael Cato, and Bransen Bellard.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, on Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The visitation will continue at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, on Friday, June 28, 2024, from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 12:00 PM. The graveside service with military honors and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
