Julius Falvey, Sr.

A native and resident of Baker, he passed away Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 10:40pm at Golden Age Nursing Home. He was 87, and had retired from Kaiser Aluminum with 36 years of service. He was also a retired Baptist Minister, and pastored Friendship Baptist Church in Baker for six years. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II, having served in the South Pacific. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Monday, January 21, 2013 from 48pm, and on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 from 8am until religious services in the chapel at 10am, conducted by Rev. Don Perkins. Interment with military honors to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Survived by five daughters and three sonsinlaw, Marie and Jules Newby of Houston, Muriel Falvey of Baker, Susan and Corwin Bolton of Walker, Connie Srinivasan of Los Angeles, and Valerie and Dennis Delaune of Denham Springs a son and daughterinlaw, Julius Jr. and Annette Falvey of Cottonport soninlaw, Billy Carber 13 grandchildren, 16 greatgrandchildren, and one greatgreat grandchild. Preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Falvey daughter, Veronica Carber two brothers and a sister. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Baker.
