Julius Beasley

December 4, 1928 — August 1, 2023

Julius Beasley

Julius Lavirl Beasley, 94 years old, beloved Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and Great- Great Grandfather, was called to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 1, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He entered this world on December 4, 1928 in Natchez, MS.

Julius spent his whole life in the service of others. Throughout his life, he served faithfully as a priesthood holder as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Service included several years as a Bishop of the Baker Ward and several other leadership callings in his church, but his favorite calling was by far his time in service as a Ward Missionary and Ward Mission Leader in his local area in Louisiana as well as a time as temple ordinance worker with his eternal companion Agnes in the Baton Rouge Louisiana Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Throughout his life, Julius brought many souls to Christ by introducing them to the Good News of the gospel. His life and influence have been felt by so many during his nine plus decades on this earth, where he has helped instill the principles and testimony of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His greatest joy in life outside of his family was seeing individuals turn their lives to Christ and feel the blessing of the restored gospel.

Outside of his dedicated church service, Julius was known as a successful business entrepreneur. This included his family oil business, Baton Rouge Industries located in Baker, LA and his feed business, Champion Feed located in Zachary, LA. Both these businesses have blessed the lives of several of Julius and Agnes kids and grandkids with employment over the last 60 plus years.

Julius leaves behind a legacy of faith, sacrifice, endurance, love of family, God, Jesus Christ, country and of his fellow man. Though now with his sweetheart in the eternities, he leaves a lasting memory upon all those that he has influenced during his earthly mission.

Julius is survived by his daughters, Linda Brashear and husband Bobby, Barbara Davis and husband Scooter, and Darlene Ritchey and husband Rodney; sons, Bruce Beasley and wife Ann, James Beasley and wife Melinda, and David Beasley and wife Linda; 37 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.

Julius is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Agnes Elridge Beasley; mother, Mertha Beasley; sons, Jerry Beasley and Donald Beasley; and grandsons, Brian Beasley, Jory Thaxton, Joey Brashear, and Jeremy Beasley.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Brashear, Mark Ritchey, James Beasley, Jr., Jared Beasley, Philip Guay, Hayden Bates, Brandon Beasley, and Allen Beasley. Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Brashear, Rodney Ritchey, Dustin Beasley, Jason Beasley, and Scooter Davis.
