Joyce Watson

Joyce Birch Watson, 87 years old, a resident of Baker, was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 6, 2018. She entered this world on March 12, 1931, born to Mabel and Henry Birch, in Memphis, TN. Joyce was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Baker. She loved and cared for her family her entire life.

Joyce is survived by her son, Gerald "Cowboy" Watson and his wife, Patricia Kay; daughter, Debby Gremillion and her significant other, Glenn Bickham; 2 grandchildren, Lori Bryant and her husband, Nick, and Kevin Gremillion and his wife, Nicole; 4 great grandchildren, Kaylee and Wyatt Gremillion and Peyton and Layla Bryant; brothers, Julius Ladell Birch and Kenneth Birch; and a host of nieces and nephews. She considered Lynn Broussard, Paige Reese, and Nikolas Kesler her extended family.

Joyce is preceded in death by husband, Steward C. Watson; father, Henry Birch; mother, Mabel Birch; brothers, Gerald "Buddy" Birch, Roy Birch, and Dewey Birch; sisters, Shirley Frazier, Jeanne Krebs, Maude Henderson, and Lena Barnett.
Pallbearers will be Baxter Birch, Kyle Birch, Jeff Birch, Barry Birch, Jeff Beasley, and Nick Bryant.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, Louisiana, on Saturday, August 11, 2018, from 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 1:00 PM. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the doctors and nurses that took very good care of her at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.
