Joyce Adams

Joyce Adams, 71, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother was called to her eternal resting place on May 2, 2016. She entered this world on January 18, 1945 in Baton Rouge, LA, born to Theresa Batiste and Louis Adams. She enjoyed the simple things in life including watching Channel 27, fishing and listening to music. She left her family rich in memories and love.

Joyce is survived by her two daughters, Angel Paul-Banks (Troy), LaMonica Magee; one son, Michael Paul; five grandchildren, Ashley, Lonnie, Brittany, Crystal, Jason and "Treveon"; 11 great-grandchildren, Treveon, Taliyah, Tyreelle, Raymond, Braylon, Lonnie, Diamond, Brennan, Ayden, Tolivan and Bailee; and loyal and caring step sister; Glamorie McCutcheon.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Theresa Batiste-Burrell and Louis Adams; twin sons, Keith and Kevin Paul; two great-grandchildren, Ellis Henry III and Erielle Henry; and her grandparents, Mary Beal Thymes and Adam Batiste.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Rd, on Sunday, May 8, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Visiting will continue on Monday, May 9, 2016 from 9:00 am until the Celebration Service at 11:00 am officiated by Reverend Tom Bougher. The burial will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Charles Armstrong, Khadeja Francis and Marquisa Davis for all of your love and support to our mother and grandmother.

Pallbearers will be Ellis Henry, Jason Jones, Mondricko Thierry, Troy Banks, Treveon Richardson and Charles Armstrong. Honorary pallbearer will be Michael Paul and Lonnie Paul.
