Josie Jo Ann Magee, was taken into the Lords arms on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, surrounded by her family. Jo Ann was born August 28, 1939 in Amite to Laura and Frank Cascio. Mom graduated from Amite High in 1958 and then went on to Spencer Business College. After graduating there, she began working for the Louisiana Department of Parks and Recreation until 1967, when she married our dad, Kenneth. After their marriage, they settled in Central where they began a new life together and raised a family. Moms favorite things in life were spending time with her family. Whether it was sitting in the stands watching her two sons playing on the field or being together with her brothers or sisters, mom enjoyed being around her family.
Mom is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Kenneth B. Magee, Sr. two sons, Kenneth Ken B. Magee, Jr. and Michael W. Magee three grandchildren, Kenny and Timmy Magee from Central and Makayla Magee from Kemah, Texas a sister, Loretta Nettles and two brothers, Benny Cascio and Sam Cascio.
Mom is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Laura Cascio and a granddaughter, Shelby Magee.
The visitation will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Greenwell Springs on Tuesday, April 22 at 9:30am, followed by a Mass at 11:00am. Following the Mass, a procession will take place to moms final resting place at Hillcrest Cemetery in Baker. Arrangements will be conducted by Baker Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses at Hermann Memorial Southeast Hospital in Houston, Texas for the care and compassion they showed while treating mom. See more at:
