A resident of Baker, John passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Southside Gardens Assisted Living in Baton Rouge. He was 89, and a native of Portageville, Missouri. John was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of World War II. Having entered into service June 17, 1943 and achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant as an Armour Arial Gunner on the B17 Flying Fortress and the B29 Super Fortress, he was discharged from active duty on February 19, 1946. He retired from Delta Airlines in 1987 with over 32 years of service. Visitation will be at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 from 5:008:00 pm. Visiting will resume at First United Methodist Church of Baker, 1255 Camelia Ave, Baker, on Thursday, March 13, 2014 from 8:30 am until religious services at 10:00 am, conducted by Rev. Gene Rives and Johns nephew, Rev. Michael Bingham. Interment with military honors will follow at Louisiana National Cemetery, Zachary. Survived by daughter and soninlaw, Jonna Ann and Bruce Beasley son and girlfriend, James Martin LeSieur and Laurie Shultz Drukteinis soninlaw, Samuel Paul Reed five grandchildren, Anna Marie Reed, Adam Martin Reed, Autumn Cherie LeSieur Rice, Hope Ann Beasley, and Allen Martin Beasley and six greatgrandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Willadean Billie LeSieur daughter, Gerry Sue LeSieur Reed his parents, Clyde Martin and Laurine Dodd LeSieur two brothers and a twin sister. Pallbearers are Clyde LeSieur, Joseph LeSieur, Kenneth John LeSieur, Martin LeSieur, Bruce Beasley, and Adam Reed. Just 18 days earlier, Memaw left us to be with Jesus in Heaven now Paw has left us to join her.
