John Johnson

John "Johnny" Johnson, 78, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather was called to his eternal resting place on February 19, 2018. He entered this world on November 17, 1939 in Ponchatoula, LA born to Alfred and Elsie Hill Johnson. He proudly served his country in The United States Army and retired from BREC in 2004.

Johnny is survived by his sons, Jay Johnson and wife Tracie and John "Stephen" Johnson, Jr.; daughters, Jerilynn Pierce, Maelynn Melancon and husband Jerred, Toni Pierce and Hector Ortiz, and Johnna Kay; grandchildren, Danielle, Kandice, Keith, Kristen, Tiffany, Cane, Kristin Moore, Kelli Moore, Elizabeth, Angeleigh, Alyssa, Eric, David, Leslie and Lauren; great-grandchildren, Jaycie, Brennen, Kelsea, Josh, Reaghan, Gavin, Tony, Laci, Kaci, Trey, Colt and Scarlet; brothers, Chuck Johnson and wife Gean and Joe Johnson.

Johnny was preceded in death by his wife Linda Martin Johnson; parents, Alfred Harold and Elsie Nadine Hill Johnson; and sister, Madeline Arnold.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA., on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Reverend Jay Avance. The graveside service and burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker.
