Joel Fontenot

A resident of Baker and a native of Baton Rouge, he passed away Sunday March 10, 2013 at Zachary Manor Nursing Home. He was 69 and a U.S. Army Veteran. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home Thursday March 14th 10:0010:45. Graveside service with military honors at 11:00 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, conducted by Rev. Dennis Allen. Survived by his wife of 47 years, Charlotte Holt Fontenot, nieces, Patricia Riddick Carter, Stephanie Fontenot, Christina Church, Noelle Carter and Lily Riddick, nephews, Gregory C. Riddick, Randall D. Riddick, Hugh J. Riddick, Jerry Wayne Fontenot and Ben Carter. He is also survived by a brotherinlaw, Claude L. Riddick. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edmond Joseph Fontenot Sr. and Ruby Lucille Farris Fontenot, a brother, Edmond Joseph Fontenot Jr. and a sister, Bernice Fontenot Riddick. Pallbearers will be Luke Davis, Ben Carter, Greg, Randall, Hugh and Claude Riddick. Joel Ray was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church for many years.
