. . .He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death or mourning, wailing or pain, for the old order has passed away. Revelation 21:18. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all, JoAnn left this world at 5:20am Saturday, April 28, 2012. She was 77 years old and a resident of Baker. She was a retired nurse. JoAnn had a love of God and was a devout Catholic who loved praying the rosary and had a great devotion to the Blessed Mary. JoAnn made a difference in the world in the lives of those she met. Her generosity, kindness, and compassion will be remembered for generations to come. Visitation will be at Baker Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 2, from 59pm and will resume at St. Isidore Catholic Church, Baker, on Thursday, May 3, from 9am until Mass of Christian burial at 11am, officiated by Rev. Frank Bass. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by her loving children who adored her Alan and wife Maria of Central, Donna Ackerman Cayer of Zachary, Gerald Cayer of Plaquemine, and Karen Cayer Collins and husband Bryan of Zachary five grandsons, Seth Cayer, Jamison Collins, Michael Ackerman, Joshua Cayer, and Dustin Villemarette one greatgrandchild, Mason Villemarette sister and brotherinlaw, Theresa and Ev Munzel of Lafayette, Colorado. Preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Cayer and brother, William Browning. Pallbearers will be Bryan Collins, Dustin Villemarette, Henry Martin, Brad Martin, Jerry Bowles, and Anthony Messina. Honorary pallbearer is Watson Browning. She was a 1952 graduate of Redemptorist, a member of Catholic Daughters of Americas Court 1764 and a longtime parishioner of St. Isidore Catholic Church. Special thanks to Dr. Reagan Elkins, Lane Memorial Hospital and Promise Hospital on Mancuso Drive. Memorial donations may be made to The Carpenter House, www.lacarpenterhouse.com, which allowed Mom to enter into heaven with dignity and grace and without pain. Mom has now reached her safe resting place to be with Dad for all eternity.
