A resident of Central, and a native of Starkville, Mississippi, he passed away Monday, September 2, 2013. He was 74, and a retired welder with Locals 198 and 798. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Wednesday, Sept. 4 from 59pm, and on Thursday, Sept. 5, from 10am until religious services in the chapel at 11am, conducted by Rev. Wayne Austin. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker. Survived by wife of 54 years, Brenda Crum Hawkins two daughters, Natalie Hawkins, and Penny Hawkins Starkey and husband, Ricky son, Reese Hawkins four sisters, Dixie Hicks, Sherry Burton, Jackie Lasseigne, and Charlotte Austin a brother, Thad Hawkins five granddaughters one grandson one greatgrandson and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, William and Ruby Hawkins. Pallbearers are Reese Hawkins, Brian Delancey, Rick Starkey, Wayne Lasseigne, Jason Lasseigne, and Jim Austin. Jimmy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother who will be missed dearly.
