Jerry Earl Mitchell, 72, a resident of Baker, Louisiana, passed away on May 5, 2017. Jerry was born on March 29, 1945 to Enos and Grace Mitchell in Mt. Hermon, La. He was known for the company he created, Fontainbleau. He was dearly loved by his family and will be missed.
Jerry is survived by his daughter, Jan (Mark) Matherne of Baker, Olga Short of Baker; sons, Aubrey (Dawn) Mitchell, Johnny (Sandi) Mitchell, Willie Short (Scarlett) all of Central, John Mitchell, of Baker; and their mothers, Hilda Furlong and Hazel Mitchell; grandchildren, Heather and Felicia Lear, Destini Matherne, Holden, Aubrey and Schae Mitchell, Morgan and Miranda Mitchell, Megan and Kylee Mitchell, Beaux, Hope, Brennan, Ainsley and Lincoln Short; great-grandchildren, Jayden Blackwell, Addison Bailey and Saylem Wilson; brother, Louis Mitchell; sisters, Annette Lee and Doris Duncan.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Enos and Grace Mitchell; daughter, Bonny Sue Mitchell; brother, James Mitchell.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, La. on Sunday, May 7, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The visitation will continue at Baker Funeral Home on Monday, May 8, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 12:00 p.m. officiated by Reverend Dale Phillips. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker, La.
