Jerry Girlinghouse, Sr.

Jerry Wayne Girlinghouse, Sr., 78 years old, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, and Brother, was called to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 7, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He entered this world on February 4, 1945, born to Grace Townsend Girlinghouse and Guvie Girlinghouse, in Baton Rouge, LA. He owned Jerry's Transmission Service for 50 years in Baton Rouge. He will always be remembered as a hard worker that could fix anything, he loved gardening and cats. He had a great sense of humor and always would play jokes on anyone around and had people laughing all the time.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Barbara Millet Girlinghouse; children, Mona Foster, Jerry Girlinghouse, Jr., Susan Allsup and husband Tom, Toni Cunningham and husband Steve; 9 grandchildren, Roger, Kristy, Jerry, Justin, Chris, Logan, Joshua, Rylie and Kinsey; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Kattye Castille and husband Larry; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Roger Foster; brothers, Roger, Matt, and Melvin Girlinghouse; and sister, Guvie Coolman.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, on Monday, March 13, 2023, from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
