Janet Mosley

Janet Abbott Mosley, 62 years old, was called to her heavenly home, on July 2, 2023 as she was surrounded by her loving family. She entered this world on May 21, 1961, born to Jeanette and George Abbott, in Baton Rouge, LA. Janet was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. In the past 5 years, Janet opened her home and cared for nearly 80 foster children. She also worked at their family business, Baker Glass established by her late husband for the past 25 years. In her spare time, you could find her spoiling her grandchildren, rocking in her rocking chair, cheering on the LSU Tigers, hosting events and spending quality time with her friends and family.

Janet is survived by her daughter, Megan Nicole Mosley; and son, William Hunter Mosley (Corinne); grandchildren, Westyn Mosley, Harper Mosley and soon to arrive, Madison Mosley; her mother, Jeanette Abbott Tabler; 4 brothers, Dale, Melvin, Kelvin (Evie), and Troy (Bonnie); numerous nieces and nephews; and great-niece, Tori Abbott. She will also be missed by her best friend, Connie Browning.

Janet is preceded in death by her loving husband, William "Bill" Mosley; father, George Abbott; and step-father, Charles Tabler.

Pallbearers will be her brothers, along with Roger Abbott and Martin "Butch" Brignac. Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul Paline, Stacy Valentine and Westyn Mosley.

Visitation will be at Greenwell Springs Baptist Church, 19421 Greenwell Springs Rd, on Thursday, July 6, 2023, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue at Greenwell Springs Baptist Church, on Friday, July 7, 2023, from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Pastor Joshua Crutchfield and Bro. Dale Temple will officiate the services.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation for the exceptional care provided by the Neuro Critical Care Unit at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital.

In her last selfless act on earth, Janet continued to give in death as she gave in life by being an organ and tissue donor.
