Janet Gunter

Janet Kay Gunter, 57, beloved daughter was called to her eternal resting place on September 10, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She entered this world on June 7, 1960, born to Ruby and W.S. Gunter, Jr. in Baton Rouge, LA.

Janet is survived by her mother, Ruby Milton Gunter McCarthy; sister, Brenda Gunter Watts and husband Larry of Marion, Illinois; 2 brothers, Jack R. Gunter, Sr. and wife Christine of Zachary and Steven Gunter and wife Ednamay of Denham Springs; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Janet is preceded in death by her father, W.S. Gunter, Jr., stepfather, Bobby Gene McCarthy, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Wilson and Pauline Milton and paternal grandparents, W.S. and Grace Gunter.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA, on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The visitation will continue at Baker Funeral Home on Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Reverend Jay Avance.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to Special Olympics Louisiana,1000 East Morris St, Hammond, LA 70403.
