I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7. A resident of Baker, he passed away Monday, September 6, 2010 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 81, born November 2, 1928 in McComb, Mississippi. He was a retired clerk with the US Postal Service, a retired crossing guard at Baker High School, and was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War, where he was a radio operator on the aircraft carrier USS Philippean Sea. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010 from 59pm, and Friday, Sept. 10, 2010 from 9am until religious services in the chapel at 11am, conducted by Rev. Jay Avance. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jeannette Melanson Lee of Baker one daughter and soninlaw, Celeste Keldon Henley of Arkadelphia, Arkansas one son, Stuart Lee of Wasilla, Alaska sister, Norma Seymour of Zachary six grandchildren, Katie Wallis husband Randy, Matthew Joshua Lee, and Annelise, Grayson Parker Henley and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Aretus Mae Thomas Lee a brother and sisterinlaw, Charles E. Wyema Sue Lee, and brotherinlaw, Bill Seymour. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Baker, and a lifetime member of the American Legion. He loved gardening, woodworking, and spending time with his family.
