James Bizette

A retired supervisor with the Louisiana Dept. of Transportation and Development with 35 years of service, he passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013, at 12:35 a.m. at Baton Rouge General Midcity butterfly wing of pancreatic cancer. A resident of Baker and a native of Rougon, he was 73. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a graduate of Rougon High School, a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and a member of the CFMA , Cajun French Music Association for many years . He loved to rabbit hunt and loved cajun dancing and he never met anyone that he did not have a big smile for. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home 9:0011:00 Saturday February 16th with religious services at 11:00 conducted by Deacon Donald Ard. Interment is to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. He is survived by 1 daughter, and soninlaw, Phyllis Mullins and husband Jackie of Baker, 2 sisters, Mildren McCann of Kentwood and Shirley Easterling of W. Monroe and 1 brother, Lawerence Bizette of Baton Rouge. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Mindy Mullins Gallaway, Michelle Mullins Trahan and Miki Mullins. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Bizette, daughter Sheila Peanut Matherne, 2 infant daughters, Wanda Faye and Donna Marie, his parents Noelie and Felix Bizette, a sister, Thelma Blanchard and 2 brothers, Roger Bizette and Carroll Bizette.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jackie Mullins, Denny Gallaway, Jonathan Trahan, Michael Jarreau, Michael Chevevert and John McCann. Many thanks to Dr. Stephen Speeg and the entire IMPA family, LRMC nurses and staff of 1st south and Hospice Compassus along with the staff of the Baton Rouge General Butterfly wing.
