Jack passed away from pneumonia on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 5:04am at Lane Regional Medical Center. He was 73, a resident of Baker, and a native of Pleasant Hill. He delivered papers for the Advocate, worked for Butlers Maintenance LLC, and was former owner of Butlers Grocery in Galvez. He was a proud United States Air Force veteran of the Vietnam Era. Jack was a graduate of Baker High School, a member of Plains Masonic Lodge 135, and Harding Street Baptist Church.
Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Sunday, April 13, from 58pm, and on Monday, April 14, from 10am until religious services in the chapel at 11am. Interment with military honors to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be his nephews.
Survived by a sister, Barbara Fay Nickens brother and sisterinlaw, Kenneth L. and Brenda Butler five nieces and six nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, L.J. Butler mother, Evelyn Dykes Butler brothers, L. Glenn Butler and Dewayne Butler and brotherinlaw, Cecil Nickens.
