Irene Lang Tingle

On April 4, 2015, Irene Lang Tingle continued her journey of joy in the Lord. Following a brief illness, Irene left this world peacefully, surrounded by her family and supported in prayer by so many who knew and loved her.
A native of Neshoba County, MS and resident of Baker, LA she was a retired registered nurse, practicing in the operating room at Our Lady of the Lake RMC for over 30 years.
Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, on Monday, April 6, from 5 - 9 pm. Visiting will resume at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 5657 Thomas Road, Baton Rouge, on Tuesday, April 7, from 8:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am, concelebrated by Monsignor Gerald Lefebvre and Father Frank Bass. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker. Pallbearers will be sons and grandsons.
Irene is survived by her husband of 66 years, Charles L. Tingle, Sr., her children and their spouses, Catherine and Gary Reynerson, Denham Springs, LA; Charles, Jr and Rhonda, Port Gibson, MS; Anita and Steven Jones, Baton Rouge; Diane and Pat Cormack, Baton Rouge, Denise and William Fortenberry, Baton Rouge, Carl and Linda Tingle, Zachary, LA, Carol Tingle, Baton Rouge, Buck and Joni Tingle, Friendswood, TX; Mary Alice and Jeff Stevens, Baton Rouge and Mark and Wendy Tingle, Olathe, KS; Her sisters, Mary Ann Ham, Sylacauga, AL and Martha Lang, Ackerman MS, and sister-in-law Rhodena Lang, Ackerman, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Catherine Hardy Lang, siblings Francis Lang, Margaret Lang Kangas, Elizabeth Lang Landry, Frederick Lang, Kenneth Lang, and Patricia Lang; and daughter-in-law Debra Farr Tingle.
Irene was a longtime devoted member of St. Isidore the Farmer Catholic Church, where she participated in RCIA, service projects, and sang in the choir. During her nursing career she was active in the Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN) local chapter and national activities. She enjoyed her family, friends, fishing, and traveling.
The family extends special thanks to Dr. Louis Minsky, Dr. Stephen Brierre, Dr. Raju Vatsavai, and Dr. Venkat Surakanti, and the Baton Rouge General ICU and ER nursing staff.
