A resident of Baker and a native of Castor, LA, he passed away at 1pm Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at his home. He was 76, and a retired mechanic with Timbec with 33 years of service. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home on Friday, September 16, 2011 from 59pm. Visiting at First Baptist Church of Baker, 3213 Groom Road, Baker, on Saturday, September 17, 2011 from 9am until religious services at 11am, conducted by Rev. Jay Avance. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker. Survived by his wife, Ann J. Myers of Baker a daughter and soninlaw, Tammy and Alvin Bauer of Zachary three sons and daughtersinlaw, Danny and Mello Myers and Scooter and Jill Myers, all of Zachary, and Shane Myers of Lafayette four stepdaughters, Janice Morris and husband David of Zachary, Sheila Jordan and husband Chuck of Baker, Sandra Malik and husband Tony of Orlando, and Gail Flores of Coushatta a stepson, Alan Lane Passman and wife Madge of Jackson, LA four sisters, Betty Lary of Sibley, LA, Dottie Ates of Ft. Pierce, FL, Lynda Womack of Heflin, LA, and Cynthia Griffith of Doyline, LA three brothers, Sidney Myers of Castor, Raleigh Myers of Arcadia, and Francis Myers of Shreveport eight grandchildren, 12 stepgrandchildren, 2 greatgrandchildren, and 11 step greatgrandchildren. Preceded in death by a brother, Jerald Myers and his parents, Delbert and Vera Myers. Pallbearers are Ben Myers, Cary Myers, Landon Bauer, Joshua Jordan, Brady Jordan, and Craig Morris. Honorary pallbearers are Nick Morris, Shawn Passman, and Bo Myers. Huey was a member of First Baptist Church of Baker. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and baseball. He played semipro baseball for the Minden Red Birds, and coached Baker Little League for many years.
