Helen Pierce

Helen L. DeBoakes Pierce, 89, passed away on Thursday, December 29th at the home of her daughter in Baton Rouge, LA. A long time resident of So. Portland, ME, she was born in Waterbury, CT on Aug. 31, 1922. After graduating from Leavenworth H. S. in 1940, she went into nursing, retiring after 47 years of service. She was an intelligent and loving mother who will be greatly missed, but heaven has gained another angel to comfort us all. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Herbert F. Pierce of So. Portland, ME a daughter, Louise Gidget McIntyre and husband Ron 3 sons, Michael M. Pierce and wife Ellie of Naples, ME, Greg Pierce and wife Betsy of So. Portland, ME, and Stephen Pierce of Manchester , NH 5 grandchildren, Kathryn Wilkinson and husband Ricky, Donovan Mac McIntyre, Josh Pierce, Jess Fratus, Mike G. Pierce and Matthew Pierce 8 great grandchildren, Sean, Zackary, Joshua, Katie, and Sara Wilkinson, Jessah, Drayvin, and Logan Pierce, and numerous newly found cousins. Preceded in death by parents, Alfred Henry and Hilma Augusta Sanberg DeBoakes of Waterbury, CT and daughter Barbara Jean Pierce of So. Portland, ME.
