Helen Delatte

Helen Eugenia Delatte, 82 years old, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 13, 2020. She entered this world on August 5, 1937, born to Lottie Villar May and Hiram E. May, in Gonzales, LA. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Jackson, Louisiana.

Helen is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, David Delatte, of Jackson, Gary Delatte, of Gramercy, Robert (Elisca) Delatte, of Gramercy, and Alfred Glynn Delatte, of Jackson; daughters, Cindy Delatte, of Jackson and Diane Delatte, of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Monica Moyer, of Watson, Joshua Delatte, of Jackson, Lucille Delatte, of Gramercy, and Michael Delatte, of Gramercy; Five (5) great-grandchildren; brothers, A. P. Borne and Norman Borne; sisters, Rita Jo Borne Friloux and Rilda Borne Trahan; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Albert "Buddy" Delatte; father, Hiram E. May; mother and step-father, Lottie Villar Borne and Bentz Borne, Sr.; sons, Keith Delatte, Leo Delatte and Cecil Delatte; and daughter-in-law, Jeanine Causey Delatte.

Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Delatte, Phillip Mitchell, Keith Phelps, Joshua Delatte, Ernest Phelps, and Zachary Phelps.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, from 10:00 AM until the service at 12:00 PM, officiated by Reverend Phillip Mitchell. The graveside service and burial will follow at Second Baptist Church Cemetery, Highway 10 in Jackson, Louisiana.
