Gerald Savoy

A resident of Zachary and retired Fiscal Officer for the Louisiana Department of Labor, Gerald J. Savoy, born August 7, 1945 in Morganza passed away Tuesday, July 12th 2011 at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge due to complications from pancreas surgery. He was 65. Visiting will take place at St. John Catholic Church in Zachary at 10:00 am on Tuesday July 26th, 2011 with a Funeral mass to follow at 11:00 am. Please join us for food and fellowship immediately following the mass at 6618 Summerlin Drive in Zachary. Private interment will be in Greenoaks Memorial Park, Baton Rouge. He was a faithful Christian man with a joyful spirit and a giving heart, who loved to laugh and tell jokes. He was known and loved by many. He is survived by his son and daughterinlaw, Shane and Samantha Savoy, daughter and soninlaw, Ashley and Bob Wilson, his brother and sisterinlaw Terry and Nell Savoy, his sister Mary Joyce Crochet, five grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his brotherinlaw, Nelson Crochet, nephew, Patrick Crochet, and mother and father, Edna and Gilley Savoy. The Family asks that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to the Mens Club of St. John Catholic Church, Zachary La, in thanks of the love and support they have shown him during his membership.
