Gerald Mayeaux Sr.

A plumbing contractor for 20 years and a resident of Walker, he passed away Saturday, February 12, 2011 after a brief battle with cancer. He was 53, born January 14, 1958 in New Orleans, and was the only son of Lawrence and JoAnn Ducote Mayeaux. He was a 3rd Degree Knight with Knights of Columbus Council 6326, and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where he served on the pastoral council. Geralds passion for cooking allowed him to bless and serve his friends and family. Visiting at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 865 Hatchell Lane, Denham Springs, LA, Wednesday, February 16, 2011 from 9:30am until Recitation of the Rosary at 11:30am. Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon, celebrated by the Rev. Frank Yuter, with Eulogy by Deacon Pete Schlette. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Julie Thompson Mayeaux three children, Gerald G.P. Mayeaux Jr. and wife Ashley, Jessica Moosmiller and husband Jon, and Joshua Mayeaux three grandchildren, Cooper Mayeaux, Carolina Mayeaux, and Jon Paul Moosmiller a sister, Debra Mayeaux a brother, Ron Jeansonne and wife Marlene five brothersinlaw, Joseph Thompson Jr. and wife Betty, Jeff Thompson, Kenny Comeaux Jr, and wife Victoria Kevin Comeaux and wife Robin and Scooter Keen and wife Kay three sistersinlaw, Leslie Jeansonne, Karen Hays and husband Leroy, and Lisa Hamby and husband Lanny and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his mother, JoAnn Mayeaux father, Lawrence Mayeaux special second mother, Quinton Mayeaux a brother, Eddie Jeansonne, a nephew, Philip Jeansonne and fatherinlaw, Kenneth P. Comeaux Sr. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Rooted in Faith Building Fund. Special thanks to Doctors Miletello, Sanchez, and Godke, and the entire staff of ICU and Oncology at Baton Rouge General Medical Center, Bluebonnet.
