Gaynel Mary Trahan, 81 years old, was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 15, 2021, surrounded by her loving family in Baker, LA. She entered this world on December 15, 1939, born to Raleigh and Anita Stutes, in the Judice Community, in Louisiana. Gaynel and Raywood enjoyed traveling on bus trips all over the United States. They also traveled to many places overseas. She retired from Zachary Family Practice after over 30 years of service. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church for many years.
Gaynel is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Raywood Louis Trahan; two sons, Scottie Trahan and Shad Trahan (Stephanie LeBlanc); two daughters, Carla Trahan Guttirrez (Larry) and Carleen Trahan Williams (Mark); eight grandchildren, Jennifer Degatur (Ben), Jamie Hyde (Kyle), Katie Manuel (Jason), Neil Williams, Morgan Williams, Nicholas Trahan, Collin Trahan and Anna Trahan; four great-grandchildren; sister, Olga Faye Simon; and a host of nieces and nephews. Gaynel is also survived by a good neighbor and dear friend, Rose Danna.
Gaynel is preceded in death by parents, Raleigh and Anita Stutes.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Simon, Kerry Simon, Corey Arceneaux, Casey Arceneaux, Neil Williams, and Collin Trahan.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 5657 Thomas Road, on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, from 10:00 AM until the Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM, officiated by Father Frank Bass. The entombment will follow at the Resthaven Gardens of Memory Mausoleum, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
