Gaston Fred "Jack" Welch
A native and resident of Baton Rouge, Jack passed away peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2015 at Zachary Manor Nursing Home. He was 86, and served in the Army National Guard. Jack retired as a supervisor from American Hoechst (formerly Foster Grant) in 1984, then was owner of Tiger Stripes until 2014.
Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Friday, April 24, from 9am until religious services in the chapel at 12:00pm. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker. Serving at pallbearers are Race Loflin, Tyler Loflin, Joey Picinich, Kevin Myers, Trudy Myers, and Donnie Myers.
Jack is survived three children, Oliver W. Myers, Race W. Loflin and wife Donna, and Marsha Picinich and husband Joseph; grandchildren, Courtney and Tyler Loflin, Jolie Molino, Amy Buchanan, Brandon Myers, Donnie Myers, and Trudy Myers; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Mary Welch; and a brother, Richard W. Welch, II; and his parents, Richard Welch and Mollie Ulmer Welch.
Jack was an avid golfer, and loved LSU. He will be deeply missed.
