Garrett James Bordelon, age 82, who was a resident of Baker, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2016 at the Baton Rouge General-Butterfly Wing.
Garrett was a loving and supportive husband and father who enjoyed spending time with his family. Garrett also enjoyed fishing, hunting, raising pigs and gardening. He served in the Army during the Korean War.
Garrett is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Annette M. Bordelon; daughter, Kim McDonald (husband Billy) of Central; 4 sons, Garrett James Bordelon Jr. of Baker, David Ray Bordelon of Pride, Ronald Charles Bordelon (wife Tonya) of Central, and Randall James Bordelon (wife Amee) of Central; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and sister, Beverly Armand of Bordelonville.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifton "Red" and Mathilda Bordelon; brothers Wilbert Bordelon and Noba Bordelon; sisters Rosella Gaspard, Marjorie "Nan" Armand, and Anna Marie Bordelon; and daughter-in-law, Cathy Bordelon.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the Baton Rouge General-Butterfly Wing, Hospice of Baton Rouge and Dr. Militello and his staff.
The family request that visiting hours be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 5657 Thomas Rd, Baton Rouge from 10:00AM to 1:00PM.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 1:00PM at St. Isidore Catholic Church.
Interment will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Baker, LA.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations to be made to: The Arc, 1825 K Street NW, Ste 1200, Washington DC 20006.
