How Innocent were those days, how rich we were to have known them.
Fred Oliver Russell Jr, 85 years old, beloved Father, Grandfather, and Great-grandfather passed away peacefully at his home Friday, March 12, 2021 at 12:40 PM. He entered this world on September 11, 1935, born to Myrtis and Fred Russell, Sr., in Torras, LA. He was a member of St Isidore Catholic Church. He worked construction work with Turner Industries and owned Royal Industrial Contractors. He also worked for the City of Baker under 2 Mayors and was a councilman for the City of Baker for 12 years.
Fred is survived by his daughters, Stacey Reed, and Kim Glascock; son, Mark David Russell; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; devoted niece, Therese Clark; sister, Patricia Arnold; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Fred is preceded in death by his wife, Constance Haydel Russell, and son, Kenny Russell.
Serving as pallbearers will be Stephen Reed, Jr., Micah Glascock, Roger Clark, Robert Dawson, Jeremy Dawson, and Trey Reed. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Allen Russell and Willie Nero Russell.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, officiated by Deacon Shelley Joseph. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
