Fred Lewis, Sr.

LEWIS, Sr. Fred Dear
A native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Central, he passed away at his home at 10:30pm Wednesday, July 7, 2010. He was 75 and a US Navy veteran. He retired from Dow Chemical, and was a former employee of The Newtron Group. Visiting at Blackwater United Methodist Church, 10000 Blackwater Road, Baker, Friday, July 9, 2010 from 69pm, and on Saturday, July 10, 2010 from 9am until religious services at 11am, conducted by Rev. Marie Williams. Graveside services with military honors to follow in the Lewis Family Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Jo Anne Hollier Lewis two daughters and sonsinlaw, Jeanie Lewis Barnett husband Doug, and Hope Lewis Kinberger husband Edwin two sons and a daughterinlaw, Joe E. Lewis wife Sandra Fox, and Ray Lewis a sister, Patsy Long a brother, Bill Lewis 11 grandchildren and one greatgrandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Mary Grace Lewis twin brother, Glenn Lewis and a son, Fred D. Buddy Lewis Jr. Pallbearers will be Jerry Paul Barnett, Devin Kinberger, Logan Lewis, and Dale Steven Martin. Honorary pallbearers are John Andre, Leland Stockwell, and Ben Browning. Fred was a lifelong member of Blackwater United Methodist Church and a member of the VFW and the USS Tidewater AD31 Association. Memorial donations may be made to Blackwater UMC or Hospice of Baton Rouge.
