Fred Jones, Sr.

Fred C. Jones, Sr. 81 years old, a resident of Baker, Louisiana went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 21, 2017. He was born to Chester and Olivea Jones on August 14, 1935 in Nokomis, Illinois. He retired as a Deputy Director from the State of Louisiana Department of Natural Resources. He was a beloved husband and father of 6 boys. He loved life and had many friends. He loved to hunt and fish and was the President of the Louisiana Bird Hunters Associations.

Fred is survived by 6 sons, Fred C. Jones, Jr., Joseph W. Jones and wife, Esther, Michael A. Jones and wife, Kathy, Matthew D. Jones and wife, Tara, Mark D. Jones and wife, Marilyn and Christopher L. Jones and wife, Rebecca; 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and a sister, Janice Jones.

Fred is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Gayle Jones and his parents

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker on Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The visitation will continue on Monday, July 24, 2017 at Baker Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. The burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker, LA.
