Fred Guidry, Jr.

O death, where is your sting O grave, where is your victory I Cor. 15:55. A resident of Slaughter, Fred went to be with Jesus peacefully at home, surrounded by family and friends on Monday, July 23, 2012 at the age of 72. He was born on June 18, 1940 in Jennings, Louisiana, and raised in Baton Rouge and Baker. He retired from AlliedSigna in 1992. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 from 59pm, and on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 from 8am until religious services in the chapel at 10am, conducted by Rev. Rocky Bezet. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker. Fred is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elaine Guidry one son and daughterinlaw, Roger and Cheryl Guidry two daughters and sonsinlaw, Robin and Kevin Mhire, and Ronda and Brem Wilbert seven grandchildren, Brandon McAllister and wife Gabriel, Benjamin McAllister, Courtney Mhire, Stephen and Ryan Guidry, and Hunter and Austin Wilbert three greatgrandchildren, Michael and Oliver McAllister, and Ryliegh Wilbert two sisters and brothersinlaw, Pat and Lonnie Welch, and Mary and Autry Pourciau and two sistersinlaw, Diane Guidry and Laura Guidry. Preceded in death by his parents, Fred Sr. and Ruby Guidry two brothers, James and George Guidry and a grandson, Brian McAllister. We want to thank Freds nephew, Larry and his wife, Cecelia Guidry, whom God truly sent to us his two best friends, Harold Monk and Bill McLin, who have sat with him many nights and have stuck closer than a brother and his sisters that sat and cared for him through the night. Many thanks to Allison Day for taking such good care of him as his home health nurse, Feliciana Home Health, and Feliciana Hospice. We believe Fred will be working to get the banquet table ready for when we all get there.
