Flora Mae Nan Bordelon Mixon

A resident of Baker, Flora passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 91, and a native of Bordelonville.

Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Friday, Oct. 17 from 59pm, and on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 9am until religious services in the chapel at 11am. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker.

Flora is survived by a daughter and soninlaw, Patricia and Prentice D. Moore, II two sons and a daughterinlaw, Eugene L., Jr. and Lerma C. Mixon, and Michael J. Mixon sister, Camilia B. Lorio brother, Allan G. Bordelon 10 grandchildren, Jena L. Mixon, Julian M. Mixon and wife Kristina, Dayna M. Deaton and husband Darren, Michael J. Mixon, David James Knaps, Christopher P. Knaps and wife Melissa, Angela K. Martin, and Prentice D. Moore, III and companion Shelly Ramirez four stepgrandchildren, Edward Gene Neely, Eric Hallford, Ryan Hallford, and Lauren Hallford and 10 greatgrandchildren, Samantha and Sierra Uselton, Alayna and Alyjah Mixon, Evan Deaton, Camile and Colston Knaps, Dakota Martin, and Caroline and Nicholas Johnson.

Flora was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene L. Mixon, Sr. granddaughter, Dewanna Joyce Mixon siblings, Elizabeth Bordelon Reason, Fredna Bordelon, Wilbert Bordelon, Danny Bordelon, Sidney Bordelon, Camile Bordelon, Jr., and Euna Belle Bordelon Desselle and her parents, Camile A. Bordelon, Sr., and Belle Mathilda Beard Bordelon.

Flora was a loving mother and grandmother, who enjoyed cooking and gardening, and always kept her faith. . She was the rock of her family, and will be deeply missed.
