Eula Courville

Eula Marie Meche Courville, 94 years old, was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 16, 2024. She entered this world on September 12, 1929, in St Landry Parish, LA. She was a charter member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and a member of the Legion of Mary.

Eula is survived by her daughters, Diane Miller (Pat) and Debbie Johnson Dunaway (Craft); son, Carl Courville (Tina); grandchildren, Daniel Johnson (Liz), Darren Johnson (Joni), Sarah Miller, Jamie Hawley (Adam); great-grandchildren, Haylen Johnson, Greenlee Johnson, Adley Johnson, Easton Hawley, and Veda Hawley; best friend, Panagiota (Patsy) Karides; sister-in-law, Elmina Courville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Eula is preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Courville; parents, Jerome and Elizabertha Duplechain Meche; sister, Dorothy Savioe; and brother, Emery Meche.

The family is forever grateful to the excellent healthcare she received from Dr. Boyd Helm, Dr. Hershal Dean, Dr. James Craven, Dr. William Boedefeld, Jason Hebert and Charlotte Silvio.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church, 5354 Plank Road, Baton Rouge, LA, on Friday, January 19, 2024, from 10:30 AM until the Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
