Etta Mae Crochet Langlois, 83 years old, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Great-Great Grandmother, was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 17, 2022. She entered this world on October 11, 1939, born to Tamer and Norman Crochet, in Istrouma, LA. She was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Baker. She was the matriarch of the family, had a great sense of style, loved the Lord, taught Sunday School, and sang in the church choir, was a retired bus driver, loved butterflies, church family, the color purple and above all, loved her family and sharing the word of Christ.
Etta is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Roland "Jimmy" Langlois, Jr.; sons, Roland Langlois, III. and Donald Langlois; daughter, Tamer Tassin and husband, Stephen; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; twin sister, Virginia Rae King; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Etta is preceded in death by her parents; grandson, D.J. Langlois; great-grandsons, Dathan Langlois, and Blade Hunt; brothers and sisters.
Serving as pallbearers will be Stephen Tassin, Seth Tassin, Noland Stiles, Henry Green, BJ Yates, and Michell Blackwell.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at First Baptist Church Baker, 3213 Groom Road, on Thursday, December 22, 2022, from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, officiated by Reverend Jay Avance. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
