Ernest Mixon

A resident of Baton Rouge, and a native of Loranger, LA, he died Monday, September 9, 2013 at Nottingham Regional Rehab Center. He was 80, and a retired electrician with the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Thursday, September 12, 2013, from 9am until religious services in the chapel at 11am, conducted by Rev. Dennis Allen. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Survived by stepdaughter, Charline Palmer and husband Carlton of Natchez, MS stepson, Joseph L. Campbell and wife Becky of
Scott County, MS special niece and nephew, Sharon Smith and husband Tom of Baton Rouge, and Terry DePhillips and wife Betty of Canyon Lake, TX two very good friends who helped him out tremendously, Roy Kling and James George, both of Baton Rouge eight grandchildren and 18 greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Mae Hall Mixon greatgranddaughter, Skylar Royals daughter, Elizabeth Mixon son, Roger Mixon and two sisters, Helen Mixon Eastman and Frances Mixon DePhillips. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Mickey was an avid sportscar racing and football fan, and he had a friend in his dog, Lady.
