A resident of Baker since 1952, and a native of Reserve, he died at 9:45am on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Lane Regional Medical Center. He was 89, and retired as a sheet metal worker from Kaiser Aluminum. He lived a long and fulfilled life. He served two tours of duty with the Army Air Corps which became the Air Force during World War II, and traveled the world. He loved the outdoors particularly gardening, fishing, and hunting. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Monday, April 29, 2013 from 58pm, and on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 from 8am until religious services in the chapel at 10am, conducted by Rev. Gene Rives and Rev. Oliver Deen. Interment to follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park, Baton Rouge. He is survived by a daughter, Shirlene Catoire Spears of Baker a son and daughterinlaw, Louis and Debbie Wood Catoire of Kingwood, Texas four grandchildren, Michael and wife Rebecca Spears, Landon and wife Danielle Spears, Jason Catoire, and Nicole Catoire and five greatgrandchildren, Michael Wayne, Lauren, Savannah, Sara, and Brayden Spears. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Jewel Shirley Catoire his parents, Rene and Elvire Chapoton Catoire two children, Ronald Catoire and Susan Catoire four sisters and four brothers.
