SIMPSON, Edna Earl Chapman
A resident of Baton Rouge, and a member of First Baptist Church of Baker for 54 years, she passed away Sunday, March 21, 2010 at her home. She was 90, and a native of Catahoula Parish. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, Tuesday, March 23, 2010 from 9am until religious services in the chapel at 12 noon, conducted by the Rev. Jay Avance and the Rev. George Threeton. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. She is survived by two daughters, Marcella Newton of Baton Rouge, and Gwen Toney husband Ron of Holden three sons, A.O. Bo Simpson wife Linda of Pride, Kenny Simpson wife Anita of Lone Star, TX, and Jess Simpson wife Cindy of Byron, GA two sisters, Vera Harris of Oklahoma City, and Marcia Shafer of Smiths, AL 10 grandchildren, Shane Simpson, DJuana Miki Simpson, Jeremy Newton, Sharon James, Kyle Simpson, Jessica Ray, Angie Menier, Duane Albarado, Brad Simpson and Meghan Simpson 11 great grandchildren, Ty, Emmy, Livy, Devin, Sophie, Maranda, Alleigh, Laynie, Michael, Brittany, and Dillon and two greatgreat grandchildren, Cameren and Alessa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maury Simpson parents, Amos Ruth Chapman three brothers and three sisters. Pallbearers will be Shane Simpson, Jeremy Newton, Duane Albarado, Brad Simpson, Ty Simpson, Devin Newton, Michael Brumfield, and Dillon Brumfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Louisiana Baptist Childrens Home, 7200 DeSiard Dr, Monroe, LA 71203, or to Gideons International, PO Box 15824, Baton Rouge, LA 70895, or to St. Joseph Hospice Foundation, 10615 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70809.
