Edna H. Rogers ran into the arms of Jesus on 9/3/24 at the age of 89. She was a native of Bunkie, Louisiana and resident of St. Francisville, Louisiana. Edna was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to help out at her church, especially cooking on Wednesday afternoons for the evening service as well as helping in Vacation Bible School. In earlier years, Edna and her family enjoyed camping together and when camping with her husband, they saw most of the U.S.
Edna is survived by her daughter, Donna of St. Francisville; her son, Mike (Tana) of St. Francisville; grandchildren, Joshua (Holly) Rogers of Baton Rouge, Tabitha (Daniel) Gore of Wakefield; great grandchildren, Gavin Cloud and Myles Cloud of St. Francisville and Jackson Rogers of Baton Rouge; a brother O. L. "Buster" Hutzler of Grass Valley, California; a sister, Patsy Brignac of French Settlement, Louisiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Edna is preceded in death by her husband, V.J. Rogers Jr.; son, Clifton D. Rogers; parents, O.L. and Lucille Hutzler; brothers, Melvin Hutzler and Terry Hutzler.
Pallbearers will be Jim Carroll, Gavin Cloud, Myles Cloud, Kevin Foil, Daniel Gore and Joe Morgan. Honorary pallbearer will be Jackson Rogers.
Relative and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at First Baptist Church of Saint Francisville 12404 LA Hwy. 10 Saint Francisville, LA on September 6, 2024 from 9 AM until the service at 11 AM officiated by Rev. Joel Williams. Graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 6305 Groom Rd. Baker, LA.
In lieu of flowers, Edna has requested that donations be made to Mission Dignity, P. O. Box 819109, Dallas, TX 75381 or Louisiana Baptist Children's Home, P. O. Box 4196, Monroe, LA 71211.
